Mike is a partner of Getsee & DeMeola, LLC and originally joined the firm in 1997. He earned his Bachelor of Science in Business Administration specializing in Accounting from St. Leo University. Mike is a Certified Public Accountant as licensed by the State of Florida. He specializes in small business consulting with a specialization in dental practices utilizing technology to help his clients run their business more efficiently. Areas of practice include taxation, cash flow management, accounting software management and business growth and development. He educates his clients to better understand their financial statements and the importance of planning for taxes, business succession and retirement. He is currently in partnership with the University of Florida’s Executive Practice Management™ program for dentists. This one of a kind program educates dental professionals in the area of practice ownership, management, fraud proofing and business planning.
Mike spends a great deal of time lecturing to various audiences throughout the state. He has lectured at many county dental associations, the Florida Dental Convention, the University of Florida’s continuing dental education program as well as Nova Southeastern University and LECOM School of Dental Medicine.
Mike earned the CFE designation as a Certified Fraud Examiner and offers forensic and fraud accounting services. He assists his clients by installing a fraud prevention program which significantly lessens the opportunity for a fraud to exist. In the unfortunate circumstance where a fraud has occurred, Mike helps his clients from the detection of the fraud through prosecution where he is qualified to testify as an expert witness. He earned his CVA designation as a Certified Valuation Analyst and offers valuation services for dental practices.
Mike was an adjunct instructor at the College of Central Florida. He taught tax and accounting courses including federal income taxation, intermediate accounting and integrated accounting. He is proactive in the advancement of students by participating in the college’s Cooperative Education Program. This program allows students the opportunity to gain real world experience and earn college credits in the process.

When not working or volunteering, Mike enjoys spending time with his wife and two children. He is an avid sports fan and spends a great deal of time on the soccer field either coaching or playing. He is usually being followed by Rocky, a Chocolate Labrador Retriever, who can be found in the office on most days.
